Indeed, it uses the first folding chair mechanism ever conceived by humankind, with a characteristic X frame, whose original inventor is unknown. Its functionality has made it perfect from Hollywood to Cinecittà, transforming it into an unmistakable status symbol. Its appeal has inspired some of history’s greatest designers, including Marcel Breuer and Enzo Mari, who adopted and reinterpreted it throughout the 1900s. Foldable, practical, and timeless, even today, it is still considered one of the best examples of furniture design. Handmade in Italy, the Director’s Chair is available with a superiorquality solid beech frame. All the chairs can be fully customized on request.
